It's a BUSY Summer! We've been having fun playing music and generally enjoying the good weather (between the forest fires , which have been terrible).
This weekend in Boulder, Montana - The Boulder Music and ART Festival.
Sept 8th and 9th. Great artists showing all sorts of beautiful works and two full days of Wonderful Music!. We're playing Saturday at 2pm. Looking forward to a great time!!!                 

  

We'rs getting ready to head out to Red Lodge this weekend. Bruce South and Gary will be playing at the Founder's Day dinner at the Pollard Hotel Saturday night June 9th 2012 around 6pm. Then Annie and I will play at the Blue Ribbon at 9pm. Bruce and Barry Fleming will hopefully sit in with us. Good times will be had

Well Spring is here in Montana. Today it was snowing while the sun was shining! Something about the devil and his wife.... We had a great trip to Memphis, Mississippi and New Orleans this winter. Sun Studios is vibey and actually very moving. Mississippi Delta is a happening place thanks to contemporary blues fans and their homage to the famous as well as the un-hearladed genius black blues players from that region over the last century. I bought a guitar in Clarksdale. There's something cool about it. Natchez, Vicksburg and Greenville all spectacular.

New Orleans was great largely thanks to Annie's brother Steve and his wife Trudy. Mardi Gras, great eating, lots of driving around visiting old haunts and new lives in the making. Caleb's visit, all the way from China, was a special treat
.
Well we recorded a song called "Simple Ways", written by the very talented Human, for a film by Carmen Goodyear and Laurie York. The film " Women on the Land" is about women living on and building lives on the land. Sort of an evolution of the seminal 70's publication "Country Women". The film has been getting great reviews and press and will soon be released. We're proud to be included.

Made some new friends at LaHood's and hope to play a little more music there with them. It's a great place and has a rich musical history. Steve , the owner , has been around the block and can tell you some great tales of adventure and romance! Good food too!

Gary will play with our friend Bruce South in Red Lodge on June 9th for a Founder's day celebration at the Pollard Hotel. He needs a new hat though. Pretty nice place.

latest stuff

Got my guitar fixed. Becoming an advocate of medium guage strings. Whew! We've taken some time off from performing, working on recording some various projects. Hopefully getting closer to releasing our album. Winter's coming on. Firewood stacks feels like cash in the bank.

Saturday Night Sept. 24th

We will play a set with Jake Wise, Saturday Night, Sept.24th at Tona's Mint Bar in Whitehall, MT . A good time guaranteed!

On Sept 24th we will be Jake Wise's guests at Tona's Mint Bar in Whitehall. Jake's off to Red Lodge for a Sept 17th gig at the Snow Creek and will return.
We,ve been working on recording a last track for upcoming cd. Also getting a guitar fixed, yikes!. More later....

Boulder Folk Festival

We had a great weekend playing at the Boulder Folk Music and Art Fair in the lovely town of Boulder, right over the Whitetail Pass and down the road. We played Saturday in the middle of the afternoon and were treated to the headliner band called Open Range. They're a good Western Swing Band. On Sunday afternoon we were joind by Jake Wise on fiddle. A good time was had by all. It was a real treat to have Jake sit in with his great fiddle playing and lively banter. He's the real deal.
